3 Limiting Beliefs to Overcome when Just Getting Started in Real Estate
Hey everybody!
Welcome to another edition of “The Financial Freedom Blueprint” where we discuss the topics of real estate and financial freedom.
My goal is to help as many people as I can get started investing in real estate and eventually reach a goal of financial freedom where they can create a life they don’t need a vacation from.
Today, I wanted to discuss 3 limiting beliefs that people who want to start investing in real estate often experience.
I know these because I used to experience these personally.
Here they are:
1) "I don't have the time."
This is a very common excuse that many people use. However, I understand where they are coming from.
With work, family, and other obligations there are only so many hours in a day.
However, if you want to make a change, you are going to have to make sacrifices.
Whether that's waking up an hour before work to analyze deals or keeping the television off when you get home so you can look at properties.
We all have the same 24 hours in a day.
It comes down to how you use that time.
2) "I don't have the money"
This was my major limiting belief when I first got started.
After my second deal, I realized I would have to start getting creative when putting deals together if I wanted to continue scaling my portfolio.
In real estate, there are strategies and lenders that allow you to put low to no money down.
My favorite is Hard Money Lenders who offer loan products for rehab projects.
Learn these strategies and find these lenders.
3) “I don't want to fix houses up myself”
Anybody that knows me personally knows that I am the least handy person there is.
But I didn’t let this hold me back. I started networking and found contractors to help me with the renovations.
Contractors are skilled when it comes to rehabs and can complete projects much quicker and at a higher quality.
Yes, it may cost more to hire them, but what is the opportunity cost you are giving up if you simply do all the work yourself?
I feel like these 3 limiting beliefs are the most common for new investors.
However, I’m here to tell you that these can be overcome with just a few slight adjustments.
So many people let one or two of these things keep them from getting started.
What they don’t realize is they can find others to help them in this process.
That’s all I have for today’s newsletter.
Thanks again and have a great weekend!
